Farmington Board of Adjustment

The Board of Adjustment was formed with the adoption of zoning regulations by the City in 1965.The City’s zoning regulations include procedures for appeals or requests for variances to be made to the Board of Adjustment. The board is an administrative appeals body independent of the city administration and city council, similar to a court.


Membership

This board consists of a select group of citizens appointed by the Mayor and City Council specifically for the purposes of hearing appeals and variance request. There are five regular members and three additional alternate members who serve without compensation. Any request for a variance must be submitted to the planning and zoning administrator’s office no later than the 30 days prior to the 1st Monday of each month.
