The mission of the Farmington Police Department is to enhance the quality of life of the community by working in partnership with the people of Farmington to protect life and property; serve others with courtesy while maintaining the highest level of honor, ethics and integrity; maintain peace and order; solve problems; and enforcement of the law through the delivery of professional service.

Report A Crime
The Farmington Polce Department makes every effort to be a proactive department. Our goal is to prevent crime from happening, but we are a growing city, and with growth comes growing pains. Though we live in a city that has a very low violent crime rate, we do experience some violent crime as well as other types of crime including theft, property damage, etc.
How can you help?
Contact us if:
You have information relating to a crime that has already occurred or a crime that is likely to occur.
You suspect a crime has occurred, is occurring, or is about to occur.
We will look into every tip we receive. If you wish, we will contact you about the tip you gave us and inform you of the action we have taken. If you wish to remain anonymous, we will honor that request as well.
The reality is we cannot be present when every crime occurs. This is why we depend on citizens to do the right thing and make a report when they know a crime has occurred or are suspicious of a potential crime. Please join us in the fight against crime in Farmington.
Request Police Reports
Accident Reports
Accident reports can be requested in person at the Farmington Police Department, by calling 573-760-7111, or emailing the records clerk. It is important to note that accident reports are typically ready for release 5-7 days after the report is taken. Inquiries and requests need to include, if possible:
- Case Number
- Date and Time of Accident
- Location of Accident
- Driver Names
This information should be provided to the reporting parties by the officer (unless not practical due to injury). Accident reports are available Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.
Other Reports
Other police reports can be released in accordance with Sunshine Law. In general, these reports will not be available for release until at least 5-7 days after the report is taken. Some reports may take longer, depending on the facts and circumstances. Individuals who need copies of police reports should or email the records clerkor call 573-760-7111, Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM regarding release of police reports. Other police agencies requesting copies of reports should also contact the records clerk. We require all requests from other agencies to be made in writing on departmental letterhead.

Traffic Tickets
If you have received a traffic ticket, it is important to note that we cannot accept payment at the police station. You will need to contact the Municipal Court Clerk at 573-756-6787 regarding payment. In some cases, you may be able to plead and pay online on the Missouri Courts website.

Chief Chris Bullock
Chief Chris Bullock was sworn in as Farmington’s Chief of Police on January 6th, 2023. He is a lifelong resident, born and raised in St. Francois County. He has been a member of the Farmington Police Department for 30 years, working his way through the ranks from Patrol Officer, to Corporal, to Sergeant, to Lieutenant, and to Chief of Police. He began his career in 1985 as a commissioned deputy working for two local lake developments before taking a job with the Bonne Terre Police Department in 1987 where he was promoted to Corporal. He served with the Bonne Terre Police Department until 1993 at which time he took a position with the Farmington Police Department.
Captain Larry E. Lacey
Captain Larry Lacey was promoted to Captain in 2023. He began his long and illustrious career with the Farmington Police Department in 1983 as a dispatcher. He was later promoted to dispatch supervisor before becoming a full-time commissioned officer in 1985. In 1993 Lacey was promoted to Corporal, named Sergeant in 2000, and in 2008 he was promoted to Lieutenant.
Captain Lacey commands the records division, communication division, and the field training program. He is responsible for departmental training and equipment purchases. He also oversees maintenance of the departmental gun range located on Pimville Road in Farmington. He is responsible for conducting traffic surveys and traffic counts as mandated by the Chief, as well as coordinating with other agencies and organizations before parades and other special events in the city.
In addition to his supervisory duties, Captain Lacey is an accident reconstructionist. He has countless hours of training from the Missouri State Highway Patrol in traffic accident investigation and reconstruction.
Lieutenant Ryan Barron
Ryan Barron was promoted to Lieutenant over the Road Division in 2023. Lieutenant Barron is a lifelong resident of St. Francois County and a graduate of Farmington High School. He began his career with the Farmington Police Department in January of 1995 while in the Criminal Justice Program at Mineral Area College.
Upon completion of his associate’s degree, he attended the Mineral Area Law Enforcement Academy and became a reserve police officer with the department upon graduation in June of 1996. In September of 1996, he was hired as a full-time police officer. In 2001, Lieutenant Barron was promoted to Corporal, then named as a Sergeant in 2008.
Lieutenant Barron currently oversees the daily operations of the Road Officers. He handles scheduling and assists with special events along with many other administrative duties. He also works with the Code Enforcement Officer on nuisance violations and is a member of the department's SRT (Special Response Team) and a Field Training Officer. Lieutenant Barron is also a firearms instructor and range officer.
Lieutenant Bill Gammon
Bill Gammon was promoted to Detective Lieutenant in January 2025. He has been a member of the Farmington Police Department for 28 years. He began his career as a patrol officer before being assigned to the detective bureau in 2004. He was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2017.
In addition to investigating various types of crimes, Lieutenant Gammon is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the detective bureau. He is also the department’s Internal Affairs Officer, Evidence Management Custodian, Commander of the Honor Guard Unit, Bicycle Patrol Supervisor, a member of the Mineral Area Major Case Squad, and coordinator of the Prescription Pill Take Back Program.
Lieutenant Gammon obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Southeast Missouri State University and graduated from the Mineral Area Law Enforcement Academy. He is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institute's Homicide Investigation and Sexual Assault Investigation courses at the University of Louisville.
Detective Bureau
The Criminal Investigations Bureau is the investigative branch of the Farmington Police Department. The Bureau is currently composed of one Lieutenant Detective, one Sergeant Detective, and one Detective. Members of this unit are selected from the Patrol Division and undergo extensive specialty training at the state and federal levels. Individual detectives are specialists in certain fields, such as the investigation of sexual assault, crime scene processing, and evidence handling, tracking and presentation.
The detective’s primary goal is to complete criminal investigations which are initiated by the Patrol Division. When a suspect is developed, the necessary forms required to secure a warrant are prepared, and the completed case is presented to the St. Francois County or City of Farmington Prosecutor’s Office. If charges are filed, cases proceed through the court process.
The Bureau works closely with investigators from municipal, State and Federal agencies, as well as the crime lab of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Among its many functions, the Bureau is also called upon to make crime prevention and narcotic identification presentations, as well as gather intelligence, and conduct patrols in plain clothes and unmarked cars.

Crime Statistics
The Farmington Police Department responded to 24,431 calls for service in 2024 a 4% decrease from 2023.
The police department made 761 arrests in 2024 and responded to 770 motor vehicle crashes.
The police department initiated 3,948 traffic stops, issued 1,204 traffic summons and 3,950 traffic warnings in 2024. Officers do not have a citation quota, but they are required to conduct traffic enforcement and stop motorists who are disobeying traffic related laws and ordinances.
