License Review Process

1. An application, required documents, and required fee are submitted to the appropriate office. All licenses are submitted to the City Clerk/Collector, with the exception of contractor licenses. All contractor licenses are submitted to the Development Services Coordinator. 

2. Applications are routed to building, zoning, and fire officials for review.

3. Licenses are issued and mailed once approved. To check the status of an application, please call or email the City Clerk/Collector, or Development Services Coordinator (contractor licenses only). 

Planning and Zoning Administrator

Confirms whether the business location is properly zoned and that the correct official street address is being used.

Building Inspector

Confirms whether a permit is required for the business to operate, and identifies potential code requirements. Permits such as Change of Use, Sign, and Building may be required prior to issuance of the business license. 

Fire Department

Confirms the basic fire safety of the location. An inspection will be scheduled by the Fire Department when a license application is received for review.
