Due to the size of the department, full-time positions are not commonly available; however, we are often searching for part-time employees. The City of Farmington employs twenty-three (23) full-time professional firefighters and maintains around twenty-five (25) part-time professional firefighters.
Mandatory Requirements for Full-Time Employment:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be a Missouri resident
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a minimum of twenty-one years of age
- Missouri State Certified Firefighter I&II
- Current Emergency Medical Technician License
- Hazardous Materials Awareness, Operations or Technician
Requirements for Part-Time Employment:
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be a Missouri resident (close proximity to Farmington preferred)
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a minimum of eighteen years of age
- Missouri State Certified Firefighter I&II, current Emergency Medical Technician License, or significant prior experience in the field of firefighting is preferred.
