Officers Responded to Suspicious Activity Involving the ATM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Arrests at Leadco Community Credit Union

Farmington, Missouri (July 16, 2026)

On July 14, 2026, at approximately 4:46am, officers responded to Leadco Community Credit Union, located at 551 E Karsch Blvd., regarding suspicious activity involving the Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

Upon arrival, officers conducted a traffic stop on a red 2009 Toyota Camry as it was leaving the property. The investigation revealed that the vehicle's two occupants had gained access to the ATM using a key found in their possession and had installed a skimming device designed to capture customers' card information.

Further investigation determined that the suspects were also in possession of a vehicle reported stolen from Chicago, Illinois. Both individuals, identified as Hispanic males, were taken into custody without incident and transported to the St. Francois County Jail.

Following additional investigation, charges of Tampering in the First Degree and Felony Stealing were sought against both suspects. Investigators also learned that the individuals were unlawfully present in the United States. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) placed detainers on both subjects.

The investigation remains ongoing. No further information is being released at this time.
