Juvenile Taken into Custody Following Reported Threat

Farmington, Missouri (September 25, 2026) On September 21, 2026, the Farmington Police Department was notified of an alleged threat of violence made by a Farmington School District student toward another student in the school district.

The Farmington Police Department began a joint investigation with the Farmington School District. During the investigation, a juvenile was identified in connection with the reported threat. After information obtained during the investigation supported the credibility of the threat, the juvenile was taken into custody pending further investigation. The juvenile remains in the custody of the St. Francois County Juvenile Office.

Information developed during the investigation was also shared with the Farmington School District so that appropriate measures could be taken to address any potential concerns involving other students.

The investigation remains ongoing. No further information regarding the juvenile will be released at this time due to the individual's age and the ongoing nature of the investigation. The Farmington Police Department takes reports of threats in schools seriously and continues to work together with the school district to help maintain a safe environment for students and the community.
