Billing Correction Affecting Select City Light & Water Customers
Power rate adjustment omitted due to system error.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Billing Correction Affecting Select City Light & Water Customers
Farmington, Missouri (September 11, 2026) – Farmington City Light & Water customers who received bills with a due date of September 15, 2026 and September 25, 2026, were recently affected by a system error.
A power rate adjustment was intended to be included on the affected bills; however, the charge was inadvertently omitted due to a system error. Our office is currently correcting affected accounts, and customers will see the adjustment on their account.
Power rate adjustments allow periodic rate changes outside of general rate cases to recover or return actual purchased power costs. This is standard practice for many utilities.
Customers who received bills with a due date of September 5, 2026, were not affected and will not see any difference on their account.
As always, if you or someone you know needs help paying your utility bill, you may qualify for energy assistance through East Missouri Action Agency. To apply, call 573-431-5191 or visit eastmoaa.org.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, please contact Farmington City Light & Water at 573-756-2620.
