Police Pursuit Summary

Farmington Police Respond to Incident on March 3, 2026

On March 3rd at approximately 8:30 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford truck in the parking lot of Walmart for careless and imprudent driving. It was also reported that the vehicle may have struck another vehicle while in the lot.


The driver failed to yield and fled the scene, leading officers on a 16-mile pursuit through the city of Farmington while committing multiple traffic violations. The pursuit continued southbound on Highway OO toward Highway DD. At that point, Farmington officers terminated the pursuit.


The St. Francois County Sheriff's Department continued the pursuit. A short time later, a 17-year-old juvenile suspect was taken into custody on Bidwell Road in Ste. Genevieve County.


Charges are pending at this time.
