Milling and Paving in Downtown Farmington to begin on June 22, 2026

Farmington, Missouri (June 16, 2026) – The Farmington Street Department will begin necessary milling and paving work in the downtown area on June 22, 2026, weather permitting.

This includes Columbia Street (from Washington Street to Ste. Genevieve Avenue) and Ste. Genevieve Avenue (from Columbia Street to Walter Drive). 

To minimize disruptions to downtown businesses and traffic during normal operating hours, milling operations may begin as early as 4:00am on some days. The Street Department anticipates the project will take approximately one week for milling and one week for cleanup; however, weather and emergency projects may affect the schedule.

Businesses and residents should be aware that the work will impact traffic and parking in some areas. One lane of Columbia Street and Ste. Genevive Avenue will remain open during the milling process at most times to allow for traffic throughout the downtown area. The City urges drivers to use caution and watch for workers and signage when traveling downtown.

During the project, parking will be limited along the following routes:

• Columbia Street from A Street to Main Street
• Ste. Genevieve Avenue between Main Street and Veterans Drive
• Franklin Street, Washington Street, Henry Street and Jackson Street between Harrison and Liberty
• Jefferson Street between Columbia Street and Liberty Street

The Street Department will place "no parking" signs in the planned work area on the night prior to work. Please avoid parking in areas where the signs have been posted. 

Leadbelt Materials will resurface the streets as soon as practicable when the milling work is completed. Parking, crosswalk and pavement striping will be completed following the paving work.
