Leadbelt Materials will Begin Paving at 5:00am

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Paving on Columbia Street in Farmington to begin July 1, 2026
Farmington, Missouri (June 30, 2026) – The Farmington Street Department has completed milling work on Columbia Street in downtown Farmington and plans to begin paving this week. The area to be paved includes Columbia Street (from A Street to Main Street).
Leadbelt Materials was awarded the paving contract earlier this year, and will begin paving on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 5:00am. Parking, crosswalk and pavement striping will be completed at a later date following paving. Other streets that have been milled will be paved following the completion of Columbia Street.
Businesses and residents should be aware that the work will impact traffic and parking in some areas. One lane of Columbia Street will remain open during the paving at most times to allow for traffic throughout the downtown area. The City urges drivers to use caution and watch for workers and signage when traveling downtown.
The Street Department will place "no parking" signs in the planned work area. Please avoid parking in areas where the signs have been posted.
Any questions that may arise during the project may be directed to the Development Services Department at 573-756-0608. For a complete list of streets scheduled for improvement, visit farmington-mo.gov/public-works.
