FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Farmington Water Park to Open May 30, 2026 Following Renovations
Farmington, Missouri (April 29, 2026) – The Farmington Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the grand reopening of the Farmington Water Park on May 30, 2026, following an extensive renovation project.
The park was originally scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend, as it traditionally does. However, storm damage to the locker room skylights has delayed the opening until May 30 to allow time for repairs. The damage was caused by the hailstorm that struck Farmington in the early morning hours of April 27.
The park will reopen this season with several exciting features, including three brand-new water slides. The new slide tower stands ten feet taller than the previous structure, allowing for even more thrills than ever before. In addition, a new larger play structure has been installed. This area includes smaller slides that are more easily accessible for younger children and have no height requirement, interactive play features, and the fan-favorite giant water bucket, now upgraded for even more fun.
Farmington Parks and Recreation Director, Lainie Gault, says her staff has been working hard to prepare for the grand opening. “The renovation process has been extensive, and we are excited to welcome the community back to enjoy the finished product. Our staff is ready to provide a fun and memorable experience for our guests,” said Gault.
Guests may purchase a day pass, season pass, and even book a party or reserve the entire facility for special events. Admission to the park includes access to the River’s Edge Splash Pad, lazy river, slides, play structure, and large swimming pool. The park will be open daily from 11:00AM to 6:00PM, weather permitting. On-site concessions will also be available for purchase. Season passes are available at a reduced rate through May 22, 2026, and can be purchased at the Farmington Civic Center front desk.
The 2026 season will feature several returning events and some exciting new additions. Guests can enjoy free Spray ‘N Play at the River’s Edge Splash Pad beginning May 9 through May 22, from 9:00AM to 6:00PM. Free admission to the splash pad will also be offered beginning May 30 through the end of the season from 9:00AM-10:30AM daily. Special events include Pirate Day on June 9, Sensory Night on June 15 and July 13, the Dive-In Movie on July 18, adults only Twilight Sip & Swim on June 19, July 17, and August 8, and the popular Hot Dippity Dog on September 8.
Farmington Parks and Recreation would like to welcome the public to a grand reopening on May 30, 2026. At 10:30am the winners of the Water Slide Naming Contest will be announced. The three winners will get to be the first ones to experience the slides on opening day and will receive a free season pass to the Water Park. Farmington residents may enter the contest by completing an entry form at the Farmington Civic Center. Forms are also available at Farmington-mo.gov and can be mailed in. At 11:00am the gates to the Water Park will officially open. The excitement will continue throughout opening day with drawings for free day passes, free season passes, and a gift basket full of summer essentials.
